What you’ll do
As a Business Support Officer, you’ll provide essential frontline and administrative support to tenants, staff and external stakeholders. Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll help deliver consistent, high-quality service while maintaining best practice approaches.
This is a varied, fast-paced role where priorities can shift, requiring flexibility and the ability to pivot with confidence. You’ll support both internal teams and external customers, ensuring enquiries are handled professionally and services run seamlessly.
From managing records and coordinating meetings to responding to enquiries, you’ll contribute to a positive and well-organised office environment where people feel valued and supported.
Each day, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience for tenants, visitors and colleagues, helping ensure housing services run smoothly while supporting people on their housing journey.
You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:
- Managing incoming housing enquiries via phone, email and in person
- Assisting tenants with forms, documentation, rent queries, and general housing information.
- Maintaining accurate tenant records, archiving and supporting compliance requirements
- Managing shared inboxes, correspondence and administrative workflows
- Coordinating calendars, meetings and preparing agendas, papers and minutes
- Supporting ordering processes, liaising with vendors and managing office supplies
- Contributing to a welcoming reception environment and shared team responsibilities
What you’ll bring
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Experience in administration, customer service or a similar support role
- Strong organisational skills, including record-keeping and archiving
- Confidence managing multiple priorities in a changing environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support diverse customers
- Systems proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database platforms
- A collaborative mindset, personal resilience and a proactive approach in seeking support when needed
We would also love you to have:
- Experience in community housing, social services or a similar environment
- Familiarity with systems such as TechnologyOne, tenant management and government portals.
- Exposure to accounts payable/receivable and purchasing processes
- Experience preparing meeting documentation and taking minutes
