We are seeking a highly skilled Project Officer to establish an accurate, physically verified and valued asset register for Beechworth Health Service through a 12-week project.
About Beechworth Health Service
Beechworth Health Service is a small rural health service with a strong connection to the community it serves. We provide health and aged care services to the people of Beechworth and surrounding communities, working with consumers, families, staff and regional partners to support safe, high-quality and person-centred care.
Our size creates a distinctive leadership environment. Executive leaders are close to our services, our workforce and our community, while still managing the governance, regulatory and strategic complexity of a contemporary Victorian public health service.
Beechworth is a historic township in north-east Victoria, known for its strong community, natural surrounds and enviable regional lifestyle.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, through the Asset Management Working Group, the Project Officer will identify, photograph and tag assets, complete data entry, undertake valuation assessments using an agreed methodology, and reconcile operational and financial records. The role will work with internal teams, the Department of Health’s Assets team and BHS’s external accountant to resolve discrepancies and confirm asset information.
The role will deliver a reliable register to support asset planning, replacement decisions, financial reporting and ongoing management, with practical guidance and a formal handover to staff responsible for maintaining it. Written procedures will form part of this handover.
About you
You will be a motivated and organised project professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate projects, manage information and deliver practical outcomes. You will be confident working independently while building effective relationships with staff across clinical, corporate and operational areas.
You will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational information, identify discrepancies and work collaboratively to resolve issues. Experience in asset management, financial administration, procurement, auditing, data management or project coordination will be highly regarded.
You will be comfortable undertaking both hands-on project activities and broader coordination responsibilities, including data collection, asset identification, record reconciliation, documentation and procedure development. You will also have the communication skills to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate information and consistent processes.
Most importantly, you will be proactive, methodical and solutions-focused, with a commitment to establishing reliable systems that support sound decision-making, accountability and the long-term sustainability of Beechworth Health Service.
The full Position Description provides further information about the role’s responsibilities and selection criteria.
Come and join the team at Beechworth Health Service and bring your experience, leadership and ideas to a role where you can make a genuine organisation-wide difference. Help us strengthen the systems, services and culture that support our people, our community and the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
All applicants are asked to submit a CV and covering letter demonstrating how you meet the position requirements.
