Beechworth Health Service (BHS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Facilities Maintenance & Grounds Supervisor to lead the day-to-day maintenance and gardening operations across our service. This is a hands-on leadership role that plays a critical part in ensuring our facilities are safe, functional, welcoming and well maintained for residents, patients, staff and visitors.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Facilities Services Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the Facilities Maintenance and Grounds team, ensuring both responsive and preventative maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

You will:

  • Coordinate urgent and routine maintenance requests through FMI
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules for buildings, plant, equipment and grounds
  • Supervise, support and guide maintenance and gardening staff
  • Undertake regular building, grounds and safety inspections
  • Assist with minor renovations and repairs
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

This role is pivotal in supporting safe environments, compliance with legislative requirements and the smooth operation of essential services across BHS.

What you bring

  • Demonstrated experience planning, organising and prioritising work in a complex environment
  • Confidence in supervising staff, supporting capability and coordinating daily work
  • Trade Certificate or relevant building/trade qualification
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (OHS, Essential Services, hazardous substances)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • A collaborative style and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • A commitment to the values of respect, integrity, excellence and trust
  • Experience in health, aged care or community services is welcomed but not essential.
