About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Corporate Services is a member of the Executive Team and provides strategic leadership, governance and assurance across the organisation’s Corporate Services portfolio.

This is a broad and influential role encompassing Finance; People & Culture; Infrastructure & Support Services; Health Information Management; procurement and contract management; information technology; corporate administration; occupational health and safety; consumer engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; asset management; capital planning and projects; and environmental sustainability.

The Director will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board, Finance and Audit Committee, Director Clinical Services and portfolio leaders to strengthen organisational performance, financial sustainability and corporate governance. The role will ensure decision-makers receive clear, accurate and timely financial, risk, performance and assurance information.

A key focus will be bringing the portfolio together as an integrated corporate service. The Director will establish direction, align competing priorities, monitor performance and risk, and ensure managers, advisers and service providers are accountable for agreed outcomes. This is an executive leadership position that leads through others while remaining connected to the operational realities of a small rural health service.

The role will maintain constructive relationships with the organisation’s external accountant and internal and external auditors. It will also contribute to regional collaboration and shared priorities through the Hume Local Health Service Network.

About you

You will be an experienced senior leader with the ability to see the whole organisation, understand how different corporate functions connect and translate strategic priorities into practical and sustainable outcomes.

You will bring strong financial and commercial acumen, sound governance and risk-management capability, and an understanding of contemporary workforce leadership. You will be confident working with a Board and Executive Team, interpreting complex information and providing clear advice, informed assurance and constructive challenge.

You will know how to set direction, delegate effectively, develop capable leaders and create accountability without becoming drawn into every operational matter. Your leadership will be visible, fair and respectful, supported by integrity, curiosity and sound judgement.
