Where do you want to go?

The Data and Analytics Manager is responsible for driving data quality control, governance, data availability and delivering and curating user-centric data visualisation solutions for the Bayer pharmaceutical team.

Collaborating with peers within the Business Excellence team (analytics, business platforms, and digital) your key tasks focus on accountability for data stewardship, analytics and data visualisation.

You will have excellent hands-on skills maintaining metadata and be comfortable liaising with local stakeholders to identify data needs, along with collaborating with global data and technology teams to enable data readiness.

This is a full time, permanent position, where we work in a hybrid work model of a minimum 3 days in the Pymble office.

Do something that moves you.

  • Design principles and policies to effectively govern all data.
  • Identify, capture and generate new data (e.g., CRM, medical, RWE, sensors); clearing organisational hurdles to gain access to data.
  • Maintain partnerships with 3rd party data providers, conducting data integrity and UA testing.
  • Analyse data quality and completeness, identify risk areas and recommend solutions.
  • Provide input to the development of the analytics strategy and defining data-driven applications.
  • Responsible for key aspects along the data modelling cycle: providing support to address business questions and hypotheses, data sourcing and preparation, model development and enable insight generation.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, data owners and data engineers to define data pipelines.
  • Act as a liaison with global team on data warehousing and architecture.
  • Champion knowledge-sharing, learning, and adoption of best practices across the data stewarding community.
  • Support the creation, development and maintenance of business dashboards using relevant data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau and PowerBI).

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data science, Computer Science, Machine learning, Applied statistics or Mathematics.
  • Demonstrable practical programming knowledge in at least two of the following languages: R, Python, Scala or SQL.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools e.g., Tableau and Power BI.
  • Proven work experience working in a data science, analytics or primary data focussed environment.
  • A combination of technical skills and strategic mindset to transform data into valuable assets.
  • A work background in a life science or highly regulated industry will be highly desirable.
  • Experience in analytics and statistical modelling, preferably including machine learning techniques.
  • Proactive attitude and ability work in an agile environment, following agile leadership methodologies.
  • Outstanding planning and project skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good presentation and commercial acumen skills
