The Purpose 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Territory Business Development Manager to join Bayer in this important role created to promote, develop and coordinate BCS’s Environmental Science portfolio mix to customers & key decision influencers to optimize BCS market share.

Reporting to the National Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth of the Turf and Ornamental territory through execution of the strategy, identification of new business development opportunities, market segmentation & digital utilization.

Role responsibilities

  • Establish and the implement territory plan based on robust market intelligence, customer segmentation, product positioning and competitive knowledge, with a focus on key opportunities to achieve year on year growth and set sales targets
  • Implement customer segmentation within territory to; drive growth on base, identify new customers and opportunities, deliver targeted customer experience, and drive a customer focused approach and manage resources effectively
  • Anticipate customer needs through insights and analytics gained in the adoption and full utilization of the CRM
  • Generate demand for Environmental Science products by positioning right information with customers
  • Utilize CRM to improve customer experience, gain loyalty and maximise customer potential
  • Identify how the existing product proposition can add additional value/opportunity to customers
  • Proactively identify, create, and implement plans to capture opportunities to expand the business in the Territory
  • Plan and execute activities which assist in rapid adoption of new products as well as growing base business of established proprietary products
  • Develop and enhance external partnerships within territory to build on brand value to identify new opportunities (e.g., consultants, distribution partners, industry bodies, key influencers etc.)  

Who you are

  • Direct Turf and Ornamental Segment experience is preferable
  • Possesses a strong technical, product and market background
  • Tertiary qualification in related field
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Able to promote / sell the value proposition
  • Demonstrated Sales and Business Development ability – progresses each interaction to a commitment
  • Superior interpersonal and Communication skills i.e., articulate, energetic, self-directed
  • Computer literate with good understanding of Microsoft Office and CRM applications
  • Possesses strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to learn, impart and articulate technical information styling to varying audience knowledge levels and across multiple segments and geographies
  • A team player that shares insights, successes, fosters teamwork and willing to receive feedback
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to a wide variety of audiences
  • Relationship management skills
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales whilst demonstrating a commitment to customer service
  • Be based or willing to be located in Greater Sydney
