The Purpose
Ensure the effective management of compensation topics / programs within Australia and New Zealand to ensure coordination, execution and governance of these topics / programs are aligned within the context of Bayer’s broader Total Rewards framework.
Act as the first point of contact between Regional Total Rewards and key local leaders supporting local management in resolving local TR issues involving compensation, including advising on base pay (eg new hires and out-of-cycle adjustments), driving global merit and company bonus programs / processes, providing SIP compensation design, and advising on one-time and other special payments.
Lead or contribute in projects related to the Total Rewards field and provide expert advice with respect of local laws and regulations as well as Bayer MARGOs, directives and procedures. Support APAC region with global projects (e.g. analytics, sales incentive design, M&A, Cross Border (Global Mobility).
Role responsibilities
- Provide ongoing compensation expertise, guidance and support to the local HR communities in the country cluster
- Maintains Bayer standards and relevant TR processes
- Provides expert high-value compensation advice
- Implement and coordinate governance arrangements to ensure market competitive and internally coherent salary packages based on business needs, compliance and affordability / sustainability
- Supports the regional cross border workforce team regarding managing expatriate remuneration
- Analyses, understands and oversees the compensation and benefits elements
- Engages in and drives regional TR activities to increase overall efficiency and capability, while supporting the APAC region including those relating to inclusion and diversity, living wages, etc.
- Partners with sales / commercial leads across multiple divisions in local sales compensation incentive design
- Drives the annual Merit and Company Incentive programs (STI, TPA + LTI), including the maintenance of salary ranges
- Acts as focal point for internal and external audits and appropriate local regulatory authorities
- Supports M&A processes and steers, in partnership with other stakeholders, harmonization of Total Rewards plans and procedures
- Undertakes / interprets ad-hoc compensation and benefits analysis and provides recommendations / advice based on that analysis, including requests for out-of-cycle benchmarking and reviews
- Directs / reviews compensation benchmarking activities and reporting
- Drives agile ways of working and continuous improvement in TR activities and broader HR practices
Who you are
- University degree or equivalent, primary focus on Business or Human Resources
- Strong and proven TR knowledge within ANZ (and APAC preferred) as well as project- & change management skills, with understanding of the competitive and future-looking landscape
- Successfully dealing with ambiguity and complexity to deliver results in projects with cross-functional, cross-divisional & multicultural teams
- Demonstrating strong collaborative skills and behavior: connecting, co-creating, inspiring, driving and engaging others
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Strong communication and influencing skills within a multicultural context
- Excellent analytical skills to build data driven conclusions
- Experience in design of compensation elements within Sales Incentive plans
- Digital literacy and mindset including familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems
- Resilient, positive, flexible and self-development attitude
