The Crop Science Division at Bayer has been investing in Australian agriculture for almost 100 years, supplying leading brands backed by expert advice in the areas of seeds and plant biotechnology, crop protection and non-agricultural pest control. We have an exciting 12-month max-term opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Manager to make a real impact across the business. You will be responsible for the development and execution of the marketing communications strategy across Bayer Crop Science portfolios, including support in development of brand communication plans across internal and external stakeholders in support of portfolio marketing objectives.

Reporting to Grower Channel Marketing Lead, you will also be responsible for driving a consistent approach to communications plans across portfolio and engaging internal stakeholders on the various plans. 

  • Participate and drive the annual marketing plan development process for the seed and trait portfolio.
  • Assist Portfolio Leads and Marketing Managers to translate commercial brand strategies and customer experience plans to innovative and produce customer focused communication plans.
  • Develop and manage all marketing communications plans, leveraging strategic direction and key insights from crop strategy and annual marketing program to tailor content to customer requirements.
  • Plan and execute all marketing communications in collaboration with Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinators to ensure cohesive engagement and outreach and alignment with digital engagement plans.
  • Copy writing and proofreading external communications and advertising.
  • Mapping and coordination of rollout plans, including presentations, training and education tools.
  • Produce collateral to support events and grower meetings.
  • Track communication campaign execution against KPIs and measure program effectiveness.
  • Liaise with portfolio leads and project managers to identify areas for collaboration and synergies across portfolio segments.

Does this sound like you?

  • Direct marketing experience, preferred communications and/or brand management.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to use the marketing mix.
  • Strong background in copywriting, editing and collateral production. 
  • Experience managing digital platforms and in the development of a social media strategy. 
  • Knowledge and some experience using Adobe Creative Suite platforms Photoshop and InDesign and MS Suite.
  • Demonstrated creative and conceptual thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to lead key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence activities of cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
