About this opportunity:

Bayer Crop Science is offering a current student from UQ, studying chemical/process engineering to complete a paid internship placement. This placement will provide you practical work experience and apply your engineering knowledge to practical operations at our Bayer Pinkenba chemical manufacturing site.

As an Engineering intern, you will support operational, sustainability and continuous improvement projects on site. With the choice to complete a 6-week block placement or a part time placement up to 200 hours, we understand the need to balance current study commitments. We would be looking to commence the internship as soon as possible.

About the work you will be completing:

  • Prepare a water mass balance for our manufacturing operations
  • Utilizing the balance, prepare and provide insights and recommendations to reduce water consumption
  • Provide details on how reducing water consumption can support our global company target
  • Prepare a project plan, aligned with the site and organizational targets
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on site including safety, quality, operations and engineering to ensure the success of the project plan
  • Adhere to all policies, business processes and OH&S requirements

Does this sound like you? 

  • Ideally a third or fourth year student at UQ, currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering
  • A valid drivers licence and own transport or ability to get to to Pinkenba, Brisbane.
  • Demonstrate clear professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Be a self starter and demonstrate positive can do attitude
  • Good listening skills
  • Ability to follow and adhere to workplace health and safety rules
  • Be comfortable working in a busy work site and wiliness to wear full personal protective equipment
  • Be able to provide proof of work rights for Australia
