This position is responsible for developing and executing design verification test protocols as part of new product development activities for products and subsystems developed by the Radiology R&D group.

The Systems Engineer's tasks include planning and executing test protocols for both software and electro-mechanical products, a complimentary mix of all engineering disciplines. With a global presence, the role opens a myriad of future opportunities for the successful candidate.

The role involves both the management of Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) activities for existing Radiology products manufactured at the Sydney facility but also new and upcoming products. The Systems Engineer will also develop and prototype electromechanical assemblies as part of the new product development process. They may be at times be required to champion engineering changes with the guidance of their peers and superiors. Key tasks include:

  • Lead Sydney-based team and plan resources to achieve Radiology R&D objectives for new products and life-cycle engineering activities
  • Supervise the development and execution of test plans and test frameworks to enable verification activities to proceed efficiently
  • Work with Radiology R&D teams in US to ensure that Rydalmere systems engineering activities and outputs conform to Bayer and regulatory requirements
  • Play a key role in selecting new products and projects
  • Participate in the implementation, verification and maintenance of the risk management files for Radiology products
  • Conform to TGA, CE Mark, and EN ISO 13485:2003/AC:2007 guidelines associated with product development.
  • Identify and plan for critical technical design challenges for product lines.

Does this sound like you?

  • Bachelor of Engineering (i.e. Mechanical/ Electrical, Mechatronics, Biomedical) or a related discipline;
  • Up to 5 years’ experience with systems engineering, V&V planning and execution activities of complex electro mechanical medical device;
  • Practical skills such as soldering, test automation with tools such as LabVIEW, familiarity with bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes Knowledge of ISO13485, IEC60601standards, EMC testing, Requirement management tools, Statistical techniques and Engineering change management practices
  • Mechanical engineering skillset such as CAD design, GDNT understanding and familiarity with computer aided tools such as ANSYS and Solidworks.
  • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Experience working in a heavily regulated environment;
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders including the end user of your medical products;
  • Holistic understanding of device development process and stakeholders involved for design changes associated with existing product
