We’re looking for a highly organised, data‑driven Merchandise Planning Assistant to support demand forecasting, inventory management, and trading performance across key departments for our NZ business. You’ll work with Relex to build accurate forecasts, manage stock availability, and provide insights that help the Merchandise team make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse sales trends and promotional activity to build accurate demand forecasts in Relex.
  • Maintain strong inventory management practices and achieve in‑stock targets (99% for Always Available lines, 95% for core ranges).
  • Prepare purchase orders, replenishment recommendations, and support budgeting cycles.
  • Validate data, maintain planning documents, and ensure system accuracy across stores.
  • Monitor delayed orders and liaise with suppliers, the DC, and Merchandise teams to resolve availability issues.
  • Assist with KPI reporting, including GMROM and GMROI performance metrics.
  • Support markdown planning, promotions, and stock builds.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on forecasting and planning outputs.

  • Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
