Payment Services Officer (Fixed Term 6 Month)

We’re currently looking for a Payment Services Officer to join our MX Operations team on a 6 month fixed term contract, supporting the smooth delivery of day to day payment and transactional services across the Bank.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with banking operations, payments or administration experience who enjoys problem solving, working with detail and collaborating across teams to deliver a great member experience.

What you’ll be doing

No two days are the same in this role. You’ll play a key part in ensuring payment services are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory and operational requirements.

Your day to day may include:

• Investigating payment disputes and transaction enquiries across cards, BPAY, Direct Entry and NPP payments
• Processing payment activities including SWIFT, Direct Entry and BPAY transactions
• Supporting deceased estates, dormant accounts and unclaimed monies processes
• Assisting with business banking onboarding and maintenance
• Maintaining term deposits and broker term deposit administration
• Performing reconciliations of general ledgers and clearing accounts
• Reviewing and improving procedures and processes to drive efficiencies
• Supporting payments-related enquiries across the business and contributing to projects within the team

About you

You’re someone who enjoys working in a fast paced operational environment and takes pride in accuracy, problem solving and delivering quality outcomes.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience in banking operations, payments, financial services or administration
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience investigating transactions, reconciliations or payment enquiries (highly regarded)
• Strong stakeholder and customer service skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• A collaborative approach and willingness to continuously improve processes
