We’re currently looking for a Payment Services Officer to join our Payment Services Team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant payment services to our members and branches.
About the role
As a Payment Services Officer, you’ll play a key role in the day to day processing and support of transactional banking services. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure payment activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory and operational requirements.
This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, detail focused environment and takes pride in delivering high quality outcomes for members.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Investigating and processing payment-related transactions and disputes, including Cards, Direct Entry, NPP and BPAY
- Supporting Deceased Estates, dormancy, and unclaimed monies processes
- Processing and maintaining Direct Entry, BPAY, NPP, SWIFT and other payment services
- Managing recall of funds, mistaken payments and payment traces
- Supporting business banking onboarding and maintenance
- Assisting with term deposit maintenance, including broker term deposits
- Reconciling general ledger and clearing accounts
- Responding to payment related enquiries from branches and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to process reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participating in payment services related projects as required
About you
You’ll bring:
- At least 1 year’s experience in a similar payments, banking operations or financial services role
- Line 1 fraud operations experience highly regarded, including exposure to transaction monitoring, payment fraud alerts or initial fraud investigations
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Sound communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) are desirable
