The Australian Institute of Sport is the high performance (HP) arm of the Australian Sports Commission. We partner with National Sporting Organisations (NSO) and National Institute Networks (NIN) to lead and enable a united HP system that supports Australian athletes to achieve podium success.

We have an incredible opportunity for a ‘National Pathway & Performance Manager’ with Modern Pentathlon Australia.

About Modern Pentathlon Australia

Modern Pentathlon Australia (MPA) is the peak body for the Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon in Australia. Internationally, the sport is governed by the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM).

The aim of MPA is to grow and promote the sport in Australia and provide pathways for junior and senior athletes to compete domestically and internationally.

Australian modern pentathletes compete on the international world cup circuit, regional competitions and have enjoyed representation at the Olympic Games since Helsinki in 1952.

The future is bright for Modern Pentathlon in Australia, with the recent announcement that Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) will replace the riding discipline in 2023 (at junior international level) and Paris 2024 (at senior international level). We already have plenty of young talent, and the UIPM sports ‘pyramid’ (enabling the disciplines to be combined in different ways to create 2, 3, 4 or 5 discipline events) make it even easier for people to get involved at all levels and create a pathway towards participation in the full pentathlon.

Modern Pentathlon Australia is embarking on an ambitious and exciting new strategy and as a result, are currently seeking to recruit a ‘National Pathway & Performance Manager’.

  • Providing strategic input and operational support of training and competition experiences to Emerging, Developing, Podium Potential athletes and their training partners to maximize performance gains.
  • Leading and maintaining the development of holistic athlete education programs that are suitable for underpinning, Emerging, Developing and Podium Potential athletes.
