About Us

With a focus on innovation and delivering better customer outcomes, there has never been a better time to work in the Tasmanian energy sector with Aurora Energy. Be a part of Tasmania’s energy future and make a strong contribution to the ongoing success of our business.

We work hard to create a workplace that is welcoming and flexible, while balancing the needs of our people, the business and our customers. Our ‘Better Fit’ Program offers hybrid working after a training and/or probationary period to support work-life balance.

Aurora Energy will invest in you with training and education, celebrate your successes through recognition and reward, and provide a range of employee benefits including an electricity discount, generous leave benefits, and support for your health and wellbeing.

We believe that every employee has a role to play in contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture. Our Aurora Way values have been created by our people, for our people. As an employee, you’ll use these values every day to guide your behaviours and actions. Together we’ll continue to make Aurora Energy a great place to work.

About the Role

As the Metering Manager, you’ll lead and develop the Metering team to deliver the full end‑to‑end metering function—from the ongoing rollout of advanced meters through to post‑installation support and customer outcomes. You’ll provide clear direction across day‑to‑day operations and manage key working relationships with energy distributors, metering providers and electrical contractors to ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery.

Living our ‘Together We Thrive’ values, you’ll work collaboratively and with purpose—creating a positive, high‑performing team environment and fostering strong partnerships across the business and with external stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in delivering metering services in line with regulated timeframes and organisational KPIs, while supporting Aurora Energy’s strategic direction through quality outcomes for customers and service providers alike.

About You

You bring strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Comfortable making decisions and balancing competing priorities, you take ownership of outcomes and apply insight and evidence to resolve complex issues and deliver results.

You lead with clarity and purpose, guiding teams through change while fostering a positive, customer‑centric culture. Through strong communication, effective relationship management and a collaborative mindset, you develop people to perform at their best and consistently look for opportunities to improve how work is delivered—for customers, stakeholders and the business.
