Lead the system that shapes every student journey 

Australian Trade Training College is seeking a Student Management System Lead to take ownership of our aXcelerate Student & Learning Management System (SMS/LMS) and other aligned programs to drive excellence in student administration, compliance, learning and assessment content and service delivery. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll sit at the centre of operations—supporting our training, administration, compliance and leadership teams to deliver outstanding student outcomes and a best-practice RTO experience.

Australian Trade Training College Ltd has been a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 2006. We deliver industry leading courses ranging from Certificate I level to Diplomas under Career Start Apprenticeship/Traineeship arrangements, VETiS (Vocational Education and Training in Schools), Career Start General funding and Fee for Service. About the role:

As the Student Management System Lead, you will own and optimise our aXcelerate platform across the full student lifecycle—from enquiry and enrolment through to completion, reporting and certification. 

You’ll ensure our system is: 

  • Efficient and user-friendly 
  • Fully compliant with RTO Standards 2025 and SAS requirements 
  • Data-driven and audit-ready 
  • Supporting exceptional student experiences 

You’ll also lead internal training, help desk support, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping our teams get maximum value from the system.

Key Result Areas

  • Lead governance, optimisation and performance of the aXcelerate SMS/LMS to ensure reliable, secure and scalable operations
  • Act as the organisation’s SME for system capability, configuration, reporting and best-practice use
  • Drive automation, integrations and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Ensure seamless, end-to-end system support across the full student lifecycle
  • Deliver a consistent, high-quality and student-centred digital experience
  • Support accurate enrolment, course administration and student record management aligned to delivery and compliance requirements
  • Support audit-ready data integrity, AVETMISS reporting accuracy and evidence standards
  • Optimise LMS and assessment functionality to support compliant, efficient and user-friendly delivery and assessment practices
  • Lead responsive internal support services and proactively resolve system and user issues
  • Build workforce capability through targeted training, guidance and system documentation. Partner with stakeholders to align system solutions with operational needs and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with RTO Standards 2025, DTET SAS requirements, and organisational governance, privacy and security obligations


Skills & Experience 

Essential 

  • Minimum 3 Years + experience administering or leading a student management system and/or LMS in a VET/RTO environment 
  • Strong working knowledge of aXcelerate (or similar platform) 
  • Experience with enrolments, student records, reporting and system workflows 
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Experience supporting staff and delivering system training 
  • AQF Level Diploma or higher in relevant field  

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of Standards for RTOs 2025 
  • Experience with QLD DTET / Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) funded training 
  • Experience with AVETMISS reporting and data validation 
  • Exposure to workflow automation, dashboards or system integrations
