Drive results. Win new business. Represent a bold, iconic coffee brand.
We’re looking for an experienced, self-driven Senior Sales Representative to take on a role with serious impact - managing top national accounts, driving new business, and helping shape the direction of our sales team. It’s the perfect next step for a sales professional with 4+ years' experience who’s ready to grow toward future sales leadership.
Who we are
We’re Atomic Coffee Roasters – pioneers in New Zealand’s specialty coffee scene since 1992. We source, roast, and blend high-grade, Fairtrade beans to deliver bold, complex flavour profiles. From boutique cafés to at-home brewers, we’ve built a reputation for coffee that makes an impression – and for a team that’s serious about quality, but never takes itself too seriously.
Why join us?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a territory with both established accounts and serious growth potential. As our senior team member, you’ll manage Atomic’s top 30 customers across New Zealand, while converting high-potential prospects into long-term brand champions.
You’ll be more than just a rep - you’ll be a key point of contact for the business, a sounding board for the sales team, and someone who helps guide others by sharing commercial insight and positive influence. While this isn’t a management role yet, it’s a natural stepping stone to one - with the support, visibility, and stretch opportunities to get you there.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and grow a portfolio of top-tier wholesale customers – across cafés, restaurants, and boutique retail
- Build relationships and be a contact for our top 30 national accounts – act as the escalation point and drive results
- Identify and convert new business – pursue leads, close deals, and grow Atomic’s footprint across the North Island
- Influence and support the wider sales team – coach, guide, and lead by example (no direct reports, but lots of leadership presence)
- Represent Atomic in every interaction – on-site, online, and in-market
- Manage promotional spend, customer training, and equipment within your territory
- Maintain consistent communication and an organised calendar – hitting sales, profit, and growth KPIs
- Support wider brand activity – occasional travel and weekend work may be required
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years' experience in sales or account management – ideally in coffee, hospo, or a related industry
- A commercial mindset – you know how to grow business and convert opportunities
- Someone who builds trust fast and becomes a go-to contact for key accounts
- Clear, confident communicator – whether by email, in-person, or on a call
- Naturally influential – people look to you for advice, support, and motivation
- Professional and self-led – someone who takes initiative and follows through
- Passion for coffee is a plus, but not essential – we’ll help with the training
What’s in it for you?
- Tools of the trade – vehicle, phone, and laptop provided
- Recharge leave – 5 extra paid days per year to reset and refocus
- Ongoing development and training within the UCC Coffee ANZ Group
- A tight-knit, coffee-loving team that backs each other to win
- All the coffee you can handle (plus events, tastings, and more)
Where this role can take you:
This is more than just a rep role - it’s your launchpad to a future in sales leadership. If you’re motivated, commercially sharp, and ready to lead from the front, this could be your pathway to sales management role at Atomic.
