About us:
We’re Atomic Coffee Roasters, a specialty roaster who have been at the forefront of the coffee industry since 1992. Using fair trade, specialty-grade coffee, we source, roast, and blend our beans to achieve a complex and challenging taste profile. We are dedicated to creating unique and high-quality coffee experiences for our customers.
We're searching for a Chef to join our tight knit Kingsland café team. If you're passionate about creating top-notch food and unforgettable dining experiences, then this is the role for you!
The role:
- You’ll work alongside our kitchen team to prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality dishes each day, including both à la carte menu items and cabinet food supplied to our satellite espresso bars.
- You’ll play an important role in maintaining kitchen preparation systems, helping to ensure smooth and efficient operations from start to finish. Supporting daily service, you'll help uphold high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness, while contributing to a well-organised kitchen environment during busy periods.
- You'll assist with stock control, food safety and inventory management, and work closely with the wider café team to ensure daily specials and menu offerings are delivered consistently.
- Working alongside our Head Chef, Café Manager, Operations Manager and broader team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop your skills and play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences for our customers.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a passionate foodie who takes pride in creating great food and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll bring energy, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to a busy café environment, ensuring quality and consistency in everything you do.
While a cooking qualification is a plus, we’re equally keen to meet people with one to two years’ experience as a chef or cook in catering, cafés, or a related industry.
Why join us as our Chef?
With a newly refurbished café and kitchen, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing kitchen environment and grow alongside a respected local brand, enjoying sociable hours with early starts and early finishes, giving you more of your day back.
We also offer recharge leave, with five additional days each year to rest, reset and refuel. You'll enjoy the perks of coffee on tap and beans to take home, keeping you connected to the craft we're passionate about, along with opportunities to learn and develop alongside the talented teams across our café network.
This is a full-time position based at our Auckland Kingsland flagship café.
