What will you be doing?

Your role as a Business Mentor will be to work with participants who are exploring self-employment as well as existing small business operators who are looking for additional support and advice. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the national program delivery
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to enhance the delivery of the programs, providing a localised flavour where possible
  • Support entrepreneurs in their small business journey, tracking progress and developing action plans to aid business viability
  • Lead external events (face to face and virtual) and proactively engage with participants and stakeholders to increase program awareness, referrals and to increase the overall demand in the program

 

Who are you?

Skills and experience that we look for include:

  • High level communication skills, both oral and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven Business Experience gained from running your own business; or
  • Supporting small businesses in a consultancy or coaching capacity; or
  • Holding a business unit management role within a large organisation
  • Intermediate to advanced IT tasks, data entry, office support tasks, including document and file management
  • Working with people remotely

A valid Police Check and Working with Children Check are mandatory requirements prior to commencement of employment. Successful candidates must set up a myGovID in order to access Government data aligned to role.
