Who are we?

Aurukun Training for Empowerment and Work Skills (Aurukun TEWS) is a new provider of the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) in the Aurukun Region, dedicated to connecting RAES job seekers with sustainable employment opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do! 

 

What will you be doing?

Your role will be to empower individuals to achieve sustainable employment. You will accomplish this by:

  • Maintaining files, file notes, Job Plans and relevant forms for job seekers on your case load to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Undertaking quality assessments and strength-based approach appointments with every job seeker you work with.
  • Identifying, addressing and completing job seeker barriers using the Intervention Management Tool (IMT).
  • Developing a quality, compliant and tailored Job Plan.
  • Supporting job seekers to engage in Community Projects/ Participation Options and link to host organisations.
  • Refer job seekers to employment opportunities

 

Who are you?

Skills and experience we will look for include:

  • Previous experience in working with Job Seekers & Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocol and culture.
  • Experience in Remote Employment Services, or similar Employment Services background, with sound working knowledge of the IT operating system.
  • Knowledge and experience of case management
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and achieve outcomes in a demanding environment.
  • Hold a Current driver's licence.

Completion of a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check is a mandatory requirement prior to commencement of employment. Successful candidates must set up a myGovID to access Government data aligned with their role.
