Who are we?

Aurukun Training for Empowerment and Work Skills (Aurukun TEWS) is a new provider of the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) in the Aurukun Region, dedicated to connecting RAES job seekers with sustainable employment opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do! 

 

What will you be doing?

Your role will be to ensure our services are commercially successful, high-quality, customer-oriented, profitable and compliant with regulatory requirements. Some of the responsibilities of the General Manager will include:

  • Provide expert leadership and management in the design and implementation of RAES strategies and programs to achieve agreed corporate objectives and aspirations.   
  • Ensure business performance is effectively aligned with organisational direction and the Business Plan. 
  • Support, lead and enable the RAES team to deliver quality services that are competitive in the market. 
  • Provide expert advice to the Board, enabling strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Ensure sound financial management of the RAES Head Agreement and TEWS’s business
  • Develop networks and relationships with potential employers, community organisations and government agencies. 

 

Who are you?

Skills and experience we expect you to possess include:

  • Experience operating as a senior business leader in a competitive and commercial industry. Preferably in employment services.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction and leading business growth.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging, motivating and leading effective teams.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including Government Ministers, corporate businesspeople and allied and clinical health practitioners.
  • Knowledge of RAES contractual requirements.
  • Knowledge of how to build and grow a strategic business to be successful.  

Completion of a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check is a mandatory requirement prior to commencement of employment. Successful candidates must set up a myGovID to access Government data aligned with their role.
