Who are we?
Aurukun Training for Empowerment and Work Skills (Aurukun TEWS) is a new provider of the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) in the Aurukun Region, dedicated to connecting RAES job seekers with sustainable employment opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do!
What will you be doing?
Your role will be to empower individuals to achieve sustainable employment. You will accomplish this by:
- Establishing us as the provider of choice throughout the Region for job seekers and employers.
 - Employer Engagement and labour market planning that increases suitable vacancies and placement of job seekers into work.
 - Contacting employers directly using both existing databases and via cold calling to create vacancies and employment opportunities for job seekers.
 - Driving internal found own employment (FOEs) by liaising with Career Development Coaches
 - Meet with Job Seekers when attending their monthly appointments to promote vacancies
 - Placing job seekers into employment and providing ongoing job placement support to both employers and the job seeker.
 - Track, monitor and take all employment and employer outcome claims.
 - Ensure documentary evidence and claims are taken to meet contractual requirements.
 
Who are you?
Skills and experience we will look for include:
- Knowledge of labour market trends and employment skills shortages
 - Comprehensive knowledge of the employment services industry
 - Previous experience in job placement and post placement support.
 - Local, Employment Service Area and regional labour market knowledge.
 - Ability to type, proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel
 - Experience keying and sourcing data into and from databases
 - Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
 - Hold a Current driver's licence.
 
Completion of a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check is a mandatory requirement prior to commencement of employment. Successful candidates must set up a myGovID to access Government data aligned with their role.
