Who are we?
Aurukun Training for Empowerment and Work Skills (Aurukun TEWS) is a new provider of the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) in the Aurukun Region, dedicated to connecting RAES job seekers with sustainable employment opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do!
What will you be doing?
This role will see you provide support, engagement training and coordination to our Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) program.
You achieve this by:
- Working with the Employment Consultant and Job Placement team to maximise efficiency and compliance.
- Providing coaching and ongoing support to operational staff to maximise outcomes.
- Ensuing staff are trained to use barrier and intervention management tools.
- Supporting the development of operational strategies, policies and procedures.
- Supporting (where required), employment and training activities
- Maintaining an effective database in SharePoint for easy access to all resources
- Monitoring and assisting to ensure 100% of WHS requirements are in place and completed
Who are you?
Skills and experience we will look for include:
- Exceptional knowledge of employment and other government programs.
- NIAA and Department Service Guarantees and Codes of Conduct.
- WHS, HR & relevant legislative requirements, e.g. WHS, privacy, disability & other discrimination, Social Security Act,
- Ability to understand and work within complaints and conflict resolution procedures.
- Understand the challenges and barriers in remote regions
- Sound coordination, problem solving, time management and ability to develop practical solutions.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other IT programs
- Good written and verbal communication to liaise with staff, participants and employers/hosts
Completion of a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check is a mandatory requirement prior to commencement of employment. Successful candidates must set up a MyGovID to access Government data aligned with their role.
