About the Role
The Employment Support Advisor plays a key role in building networks and partnerships with stakeholders to recruit and support the successful placement of employees with a disability, aligned with Aruma’s business needs.
This role involves active engagement in recruitment and outreach activities across the Coffs Harbour region. Key responsibilities include attending school events such as parent-teacher nights, visiting local schools, and building relationships with NDIS service providers. The position requires occasional travel, including after-hours or weekend commitments with advance notice. Travel may occur Monday through Saturday, though this is rare and compensated with time in lieu. Mileage is reimbursed, and a company vehicle is provided when available.
A day in the life of an Employment Support Advisor…
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and support employment opportunities for people with a disability.
- Collaborate with hiring managers across Aruma’s Employment portfolio to understand vacancy needs and match suitable candidates.
- Deliver proactive recruitment solutions to attract and retain candidates.
- Prepare and manage NDIS supported employment documentation, including Letters of Support, Service Agreements, and Schedules of Support.
- Ensure all employment-related data is accurately recorded and communicated in a timely manner.
What You Need to be Successful in this Role…
- Experience in recruitment, employment services, or disability support.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including families, carers, NDIS providers, and participants.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience with SharePoint, Comcare, and administrative systems.
- High attention to detail, particularly in onboarding processes and checklist management.
- Comfortable with a high volume of administrative work (approximately 75–80%).
- Ability to support participants in work readiness or supported employment programs, including meet-and-greet responsibilities and ensuring processes are followed correctly.
- Skilled in building recruitment pipelines across job boards, social media, and campaigns.
- Strong understanding of NDIS supported employment processes and documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
