This role is located within Summerland Farm team. About the role:

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive business enterprise that provides employment opportunities for people with a disability. In this role you will provide effective supervision and support to a small team to carry out day to day operations. Team Leaders assist to maintain a high-quality standard to achieve business outcomes and to provide excellent customer service, ensuring repeat business. This role will focus on providing specific coaching, sometimes on a one-to-one basis, enabling employees with a disability to develop skills that meet key performance outcomes for Summerland Farm business services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and lead the Fruit Packing team to assist supported employees to develop skills to achieve their employment goals
  • Provide supervision and feedback to team members through performance management with the support of the Supervisor/Coordinator
  • Provide appropriate support to supported employees with a high level of empathy, sensitivity and confidentially.
  • Work closely and provide assistance to the Supervisor/Coordinator as necessary
  • Display positive team behaviours that reflect the Aruma values and a safety culture to achieve team results and outcomes

About You:

  • Demonstrate respect and empathy towards people with a disability with a passion to see them skilled for future employment opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate a small team
  • Customer focused with commitment to delivering high quality products and services for Aruma’s commercial customers
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in alignment with Aruma’s core values and Code of Conduct.
  • A practical understanding of WHS requirements.
  • Sufficient physical fitness to meet the manual handling and environmental requirements of the position
  • Hold a current Australian driver’s license 
  • Have NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check clearance OR be willing to complete
  • Have a current First aid and CPR Certificate OR be willing to complete

Desired:

  • Experience in avocado and/or Macadamia Orchids
  • Formal leadership training (such as Cert IV or Diploma of Frontline Management)
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
