As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting across the Aruma Group. Your work supports our ability to provide vital services and advocate for people with disability — reinforcing their rights and choices every day.
What success looks like…
- Delivering financial and management reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Supporting compliance with audit and statutory reporting requirements.
- Enhancing financial processes that ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible use of government and donor funds.
- Collaborating with teams across Aruma to support shared goals in human rights and service excellence.
Skills and experience which will make you standout…
Must haves OR Essential
- A commitment to Aruma’s Code of Conduct.
- Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a Big Four or medium sized accounting firm, large corporate or not for profit entity.
- Experience preparing statutory financial statements that comply with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Experience with implementing internal controls with the proven ability to develop relationships and build stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt communication style to meet people’s needs.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice to haves OR Desirable
- Experience with Great Plains ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.
- Experience with new ERP system implementation projects.
- Knowledge of disability sector and NDIS funding.
