As a General Hand – Production & Packaging, you will play a key role in supporting and supervising a diverse team to complete production tasks efficiently and safely. You will contribute to operational objectives while fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment that aligns with Aruma’s purpose and values, enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and achieving agreed operational and financial outcomes.
About the Role
Working collaboratively with the Supervisor and other Team Leaders, you will share knowledge and coach supported employees to build skills and progress toward their employment goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective supervision and support to team members with diverse abilities.
- Ensure continuous supervision of team members, covering absences or shifts for other Team Leaders when required.
- Model and promote safe work practices, including correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coach team members to follow workplace safety, hygiene, and production standards.
- Demonstrate positive team behaviours that reflect Aruma’s values.
- Actively participate in team meetings, training, and development activities.
- Adopt new processes and technologies aligned with evolving business and customer needs.
- Maintain a practical understanding of WHS requirements in a production environment.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise team workloads.
- Sound negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills, with the ability to escalate issues when required
- Experience or knowledge of HACCP (Desirable).
- Quality management systems.
- Hygiene and food handling standards (Australian Food Standards guidelines).
