About the role:

You will be part of a dynamic and inclusive business enterprise to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to be employed alongside other trade-skilled team members.

Team Leaders provide effective supervision and support to a team of people with diverse abilities, to complete a range of production tasks that contribute to operational objectives and a positive working environment. This supports Aruma’s Purpose and Values to enhance the lives of people with a disability and achieve agreed operational and financial goals.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support team to become skilled production team members.
  • Provide effective operational leadership to increase team productivity, and develop a positive values-focused team culture facilitating cooperation and collaboration.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and data entry to ensure production objectives are met, through accurate reporting and risk management.
  • Coach and Train Supported Employees to meet their employment goals. Support flexibly and sensitively in the workplace.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Supervisor and complete appropriate reports in a timely manner.
  • Report accidents, injuries and near misses immediately. Identify hazards and risks and act upon to create a safe and compliant work environment.

About You:

  • Knowledge and experience in a production environment
  • A positive attitude consistent with Aruma’s values and purpose, to contribute to a workplace culture celebrating diversity and continuous improvement.
  • Passionate about human rights and creating positive change.
  • Excellent communication skills to be the voice that resonates with others.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise work of a team.
  • Sound negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve conflict and assess when to escalate issues.
  • A practical understanding of WHS requirements and working in a production environment.
  • Intermediate MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel)
  • A demonstrated commitment to Aruma's Code of Conduct
  • Have or be willing to complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate, or be willing to complete

Desired:

  • Certificate III in Disability or related field, and/ or equivalent experience working with people with disabilities, particularly in a service provision context
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership or similar role
  • A current Forklift License
