Support Workers | Armidale Home and Living Services

About the Role:

You are a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker with full and flexible availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster that includes sleepovers, active nights, weekends, and public holidays. Join our team in a casual capacity, with the potential to move to a permanent part time role for the right candidate.

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalised care and support tailored to their unique needs and goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality support services to customers with disabilities.
  • Assisting clients in their daily living activities, such as personal care, mobility, and skill development.
  • Promoting community integration and supporting clients in accessing social and recreational activities.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Encouraging independence and empowering clients to achieve their personal goals.
  • Advocating for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities.

About You:

  • Certificate III in Community Serv or Equivalent ideal or willing to obtain.
  • 6 months experience required—ideal for candidates ready to learn on the job, with buddy shifts provided for support.
  • Require high level of fitness for manual handling.
  • Have as much availability as possible, both sleepovers and active nights (must be able to work nights) and must be able to workday shifts during the weekend.
  • Possess or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC).
  • Hold a current and valid CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Have a full driver's licence.
  • Have valid work rights.
  • Successfully complete the NDIS Quality, Safety & You module.
  • Willing to undergo and National Police Check. 
  • Passionate about human rights and creating positive change.
  • Empathetic and compassionate, with a keen understanding of diverse experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills to be the voice that resonates with others.
  • Enthusiastic team player, eager to collaborate and inspire.
