As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Aruma, you’ll play a vital role in improving the quality of life for people with disabilities by developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work closely with individuals, families, and support networks to create meaningful outcomes that encourage independence, inclusion, and dignity.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and deliver evidence-based behaviour support plans tailored to the individual needs of people with disabilities.
  • Work closely with individuals, families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centred support.
  • Provide training and guidance to support staff to ensure consistency in implementing behaviour support strategies.
  • Regularly review and adjust plans based on progress and evolving needs.
  • Advocate for the rights of individuals, ensuring they are treated with respect, kindness, and understanding.

About you:

  • You’re passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • You have a background in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • You’re familiar with positive behaviour support frameworks and practices.
  • To be successful in this role you will require the following that applies to you. A self-assessment form (Apply to become an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner) or a completed new / entry-level practitioner declaration form and optional evidence: Any other relevant evidence which demonstrates transferable skills (E.g., a classroom behaviour management plan, a safety plan, or a wellness recovery action plan).   • You’re compassionate, solution-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • You have experience working with individuals with complex behaviours and can stay calm in challenging situations.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
