Step into a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our horticulture operation in Alstonville, Northern NSW.
This is a blue-collar, leadership role - not a desk job. You’ll lead people, manage machinery, and keep a high-throughput facility running safely, efficiently, and on plan during peak harvest periods.
The role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Macadamia Dehusking Operations Coordinator:
- Leads day-to-day operations of the dehusking facility.
- Oversees safe, efficient, and reliable throughput.
- Supports Leading Hands and teams with clear direction and timely escalation.
- Manages labour, workflow, equipment, customer requirements, quality, and compliance.
- Owns operational performance aligned to monthly and annual budgets.
A day in the life of the Operations Coordinator…
- Turn seasonal plans into clear daily and weekly priorities.
- Coordinate receival, processing, storage, and dispatch.
- Manage throughput, bottlenecks, and changing harvest or weather conditions.
- Act as the main contact for growers and logistics partners.
- Monitor productivity, downtime, yields, and cost drivers.
- Identify improvement opportunities and support end-of-season maintenance delivery.
- Coach and Build team capability, with a focus on succession and continuity.
About you – skills and experience that will make you stand out…
- Experience leading people in manufacturing, processing, horticulture, logistics, or other relevant operational leadership environments.
- Experience driving outcomes; operational KPIs, productivity measures and cost awareness .
- Strong practical leadership skills in fast-paced, physical environments.
- Sound judgement, clear communication, and confidence holding standards.
- Working knowledge of WHS and compliance in an operational setting.
- Relevant qualification (Cert III/IV, Diploma) or equivalent hands-on experience.
