About the role:
You’ll be part of a dynamic and inclusive social enterprise that creates meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. As a General Hand, you’ll work alongside Team Leaders to support supported employees in delivering cleaning and general maintenance services across a variety of commercial sites. This role contributes to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities while helping achieve operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning bathrooms/toilets, laundry, and washing walls/windows.
- Carry out light domestic tasks as required.
- Work under the guidance of the Team Leader to foster positive team relationships aligned with Aruma’s core values.
- Supported employees are encouraged and assisted to develop new skills and achieve their employment goals.
- Tasks are completed in line with instructions from Team Leaders and Supervisors, as well as contract specifications and schedules.
What we’re looking for:
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations or equivalent experience in commercial cleaning.
- Physically fit and capable of meeting manual handling and environmental demands.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, particularly in service delivery, is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Practical problem-solving skills for maintenance and site-related tasks.
- Construction White Card and basic knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices.
- Valid driver’s licence (minimum P2).
- Hold or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
