What you’ll do

As our Accountant, you will provide financial administration, reporting and analysis across allocated portfolios, supporting the Finance Business Partner to deliver relevant, reliable and timely advice to portfolio leaders.

You will play a key role in end-of-month processes, journals, reconciliations, management reporting, budget analysis and variance investigation. You will also support annual budget preparation, external compliance requirements, audit activities, system improvements and finance-related projects.

This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys accuracy, analysis, problem-solving and building strong working relationships. You will act as an important link between Finance and portfolio leaders, providing clear information, practical support and quality advice that helps services operate effectively.

You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:

  • Overseeing end-of-month processes, including accurate journals and reconciliations within agreed timeframes.
  • Preparing timely and reliable management reports that show portfolio financial performance.
  • Investigating budget variances and providing clear analysis to support financial decision-making.
  • Supporting the Finance Business Partner with annual budget preparation, budget analysis and communication to portfolio leaders.
  • Maintaining data integrity, quality control and effective financial processes across relevant systems.
  • Supporting audit, external compliance, regulatory reporting, system improvements and finance-related projects.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Degree-level qualifications in Accounting or Commerce.
  • Membership of CA/CPA, or be studying towards membership.
  • Demonstrated experience with end-of-month processes, journals, reconciliations and general accounting practices.
  • Proven experience preparing budgets, management reports and financial analysis.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, including interest in improving systems, processes and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.

We would also love you to have:

  • Experience using accounting software in a large or complex organisation.
  • Experience delivering accounting support within a service delivery or not-for-profit environment.
  • Confidence working across multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A positive, collaborative approach and alignment with AnglicareSA’s values of integrity, compassion, stewardship, equity and servant leadership.
