So many lives. So many ways. One you.

50,000 lives and counting.

That’s how many South Australians our people support each year.

As one of the state’s leading not-for-profits, we’re making a meaningful impact at scale. From foster care to aged care and everything in between, our services are as diverse as the people and communities we serve - and we’re growing our reach for the future.

It takes a special kind of person to work in this sector. Someone with real compassion and care. Could that person be you?

Join us as an Early Childhood Teacher and help shape a new preschool program where Autistic children can learn, grow and thrive.

What you’ll do

As an Early Childhood Teacher at our Early Learning Centre in Prospect, you’ll be part of a unique dual-facility service offering mainstream early learning alongside our Autism Specific Early Learning Childcare Centre (ASELCC). Based within ASELCC, you’ll create a welcoming, inclusive environment where Autistic children can learn, grow and thrive.

Created through service growth and commencing in January 2027, this role offers the opportunity to help shape our new Flying Start three-year-old preschool program, leading a teacher-led classroom for three- and four-year-olds.

With seven children per day and dedicated Educator support in the classroom, you’ll tailor learning to each child’s strengths, interests and developmental needs. You’ll also have access to Allied Health Professionals and Developmental Educators to support collaborative planning and positive outcomes.

Develop your practice through two additional professional development days each year alongside other Flying Start teachers, plus opportunities to network, share ideas and learn together.

You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:

  • Developing, delivering and evaluating an inclusive, play-based preschool curriculum tailored to each child’s learning and developmental needs.
  • Using intentional teaching and individual learning plans to support children’s communication, independence and participation.
  • Building meaningful partnerships with families, educators and specialist professionals to support consistent approaches to children’s learning.
  • Guiding and mentoring educators while contributing to a high-quality program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or an equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA.
  • Current, full registration with the Teachers Registration Board.
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and relevant early childhood legislative requirements.
  • The ability to plan and deliver inclusive learning experiences responsive to children’s individual needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to guide and support educators.

We would also love you to have:

  • Experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or developmental delay.
  • Experience in educational leadership, mentoring or contributing to the development of a new program.
