- Lead and support the Hospitality Catering Team to assist in meal preparation and cleaning of the kitchen environment
What you'll do:
We are after experienced Cooks/Chefs to work at our aged care facilities to utilise your creativity and passion for food to deliver outstanding meals for our residents that are nutritious and delicious.
This position in our Aged care sites will give you lots of variety and job satisfaction, as you look after the nutritional needs and health of our residents. This role also leads and supports our hospitality team to assist in meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Prepare enjoyable, nutritious meals for our residents on their individual requirements or modified diet
- Liaise with the staff at the centre for feedback on how meals were received and for any updates to dietary requirements.
- Use initiative, be organised and flexible to meet food service needs, including promotion of healthy eating practices.
- Lead and assist the hospitality team in meal preparation and following food handling practices
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace to a high-standard.
- Provide prompt courteous service and act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with residents, families, team, and colleagues.
What you'll bring:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery desirable
- Experience working in an aged care environment
- Proven ability to work positively and productively to prepare and deliver quality, nutritious, flavoursome meals that meet legislative, regulatory and dietary requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of food hygiene practices.
- Ability to develop a strong, cohesive work team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact with our residents in a friendly manner.
- Proven ability to liaise with suppliers and order supplies for the kitchen within budget.
