Emergency Assistance Volunteer

Do you have some time to make a difference in the lives of others. AnglicareSA needs Volunteers to assist within our Emergency Assistance centres across metropolitan Adelaide (Adelaide CBD, Christies Beach and Elizabeth) supporting people experiencing vulnerability.

• Multiple Volunteer positions available across all locations
• Assist within one of our emergency assistance centres across metropolitan Adelaide, supporting people experiencing vulnerability.

Who are we looking for?

We are calling out for Volunteers who have a passion for supporting our communities and want to give back in a meaningful way. 

In this role you will be required to respond to practical needs by providing relief through the provision of food, clothing, support, and advocate for individuals & families who need assistance.

What can you expect to be doing?

• Ability to use initiative and work within our boundaries, procedures and guidelines
• Provide financial and material aid to clients in consultation with your Coordinator
• Provide appropriate advice, information and referral of clients
• Ensure client are receiving all entitled benefits and concessions
• Provide accurate and timely data entry support including other administrative tasks

What do you need to bring?

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Patience, empathy and the willingness to help.
• Relate well with people from a variety of different backgrounds.
• Ability to work with compassion and in a non-judgmental and respectful manner
• Have a working knowledge and understanding of client privacy and confidentiality
• Make accurate and non-judgemental records of client interviews
