As we pursue these opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and strategic investments will play an important role in accelerating growth, expanding Ampcontrol’s capabilities and strengthening our market position.

To support this next phase, Ampcontrol is seeking an experienced M&A Manager to lead the development and execution of our M&A strategy and transaction pipeline. Working closely with senior leadership, this role will identify and assess strategic opportunities, lead transaction processes and provide clear commercial advise to help shape the future growth and diversification of the Ampcontrol Group.

Reporting to the Group Manager – Strategy, and working closely with senior leaders, shareholders, business stakeholders and external advisers, you’ll:

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Ampcontrol’s M&A strategy, target pipeline and acquisition priorities.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate and progress acquisition, partnership and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Lead transactions from initial assessment and engagement through due diligence, negotiation, approval and completion.
  • Lead and critically review financial modelling, valuation, transaction structuring and commercial analysis.
  • Direct multidisciplinary internal workstreams and manage and manage external advisers throughout transactions.
  • Prepare investment cases, recommendations and presentations for Executive and Board consideration.
  • Ensure integration planning and value creation priorities are incorporated into transaction assessments and support post-acquisition reviews.
  • Provide market and commercial insights to support strategic growth decisions.
  • Improve M&A frameworks, processes and governance.
  • Provide day to day leadership, technical guidance and coaching to more junior members of the M&A team.

About you

You’ll bring significant experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, management consulting or a similar commercial environment, along with:

  • Demonstrated experience leading or materially managing transactions through multiple stages of the M&A lifecycle
  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis skills.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, including target screening, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, completion and integration.
  • Experience leading transactions and managing multidisciplinary workstreams and external advisers.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
  • The ability to translate complex financial and commercial analysis into clear, evidence-based recommendations for senior executives and Boards.
  • The ability to operate independently, exercise commercial judgement and constructively challenge assumptions
  • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience across industrial, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or resources environments will be highly regarded.
