ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic and supply chain focused Category Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will develop, execute, and manage category strategies that deliver value across the Ampcontrol Group. You’ll support internal stakeholders with procurement enquiries for goods and services relating to the management and construction of projects, ensuring exceptional customer service across all Ampcontrol sites.
You will conduct market research, contribute to the development of procurement processes, policies and procedures, and undertake supplier reviews. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll help drive synergies, process improvements, cost savings and supply chain optimisation.
Some travel to other Ampcontrol sites and customer or supplier locations may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support effective procurement and category outcomes.
- Engage with leaders across the Group to understand supply needs, identify risks, and uncover improvement opportunities.
- Develop strong supplier partnerships and support strategic sourcing activities to ensure continuity of supply.
- Identify and assess new suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and support contract development and implementation.
- Analyse cost effectiveness, contribute to cost‑control initiatives, and support risk‑profile development to minimise liability for Ampcontrol.
- Support the ongoing improvement of procurement frameworks, including policies, procedures, and category management practices.
ABOUT YOU
Education & Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics Management or related discipline
- Project Management qualifications (highly regarded)
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Procurement and supply chain expertise at both tactical and strategic levels
- Strong financial capability (modelling, analysis and reporting)
- Understanding of business and industry drivers
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, planning, logistics or inventory
- Strong business analytical skills and commercial acumen
- Experience in continuous improvement and supply chain optimisation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Problem‑solving capability with a track record of delivering improvements
- Well‑organised with strong time management skills
- Experience in tender and contract management
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
