The opportunity:

We are currently seeking a savvy Payroll Officer to join our finance department at Tomago.

This is a Part-time opportunity – ideally 3 days per week (Monday / Tuesday & Thursday)

This role necessitates a high standard of personal demeanour, attention to detail, exceptional time management including professional communication standards and appearance.

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

• Timely payment of correct wages to company employees and other company payment reconciliations
• Working with a close-knit team on implementing process improvements, simplifications and automation relating to the payroll team
• Accurate entry and amendment of employee records, including updating of salary rates and maintaining leave balances
• Strong focus on Customer Service
• Administrative duties such as following up enquiries from managers and employees, Month-End / Year-End reconciliations and data entry as required

What are we looking for from you?

On a day to day basis, you will be dealing with people and must have the capacity to demonstrate tolerance, patience and understand the importance of accuracy.

• Previous payroll processing experience (essential) (demonstrated understanding of payroll procedures and related documentation)
• Experience with payroll processing software (essential), e.g. Attaché
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Forward thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
• Comfortable with process improvement
• Proficient using Microsoft Office applications
• High level of administrative and organisational skills
