ABOUT THE ROLE
Ampcontrol Transformers is seeking an experienced and driven Projects Manager to join our team based in Tomago, NSW.
In this role, you will take ownership of transformer projects from contract receipt through to completion, ensuring customer requirements, delivery timelines (DIFOT), quality standards and financial targets are achieved. Working closely with engineering, production, suppliers and customers, you will be the central coordination point for all project-related activities.
This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive project professional who thrives in a complex manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing technical, commercial and stakeholder responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and manage transformer projects from order receipt to completion
- Control project scope, budget, schedules, risks and variations to achieve target margins
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to meet delivery milestones
- Manage procurement, subcontractor coordination and supplier performance
- Prepare and manage project documentation, reporting and document control processes
- Monitor project costs, forecasting and monthly financial reporting
- Facilitate contract progress meetings and manage commercial and contractual requirements
- Support estimating, sales and tendering activities when required
- Oversee site works and post-installation activities to ensure customer satisfaction
ABOUT YOU
You are a motivated and organised project manager with strong technical awareness and a customer-focused mindset. You bring the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and clear communication.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in project management within manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environments
- Background or exposure to transformer manufacturing, electrical equipment or power systems
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, budgets and project controls
- Competency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Project desirable) and ERP systems
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production and sales teams
- Trade, engineering or project management qualifications (desirable)
- A current driver’s licence
