We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in providing technical support for the design and documentation of products, ensuring all engineering outputs meet our high standards for safety, quality and innovation.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering designs, equipment specifications, bills of materials, and plans in accordance with relevant standards and Ampcontrol’s internal processes. You’ll work collaboratively across teams to coordinate design issues, maintain quality and compliance, and support the development of both existing and new products.
This position offers a mix of hands-on design work, customer interaction, and technical leadership, ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety, innovation, and technical challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and ensure all designs meet AS/NZ standards and Ampcontrol procedures.
- Liaise with clients and project teams to deliver high-quality, compliant electrical designs.
- Perform calculations, specify equipment, and prepare design documentation and drawings.
- Coordinate and review design quality, ensuring peer review and stakeholder alignment.
- Plan and support installation, testing, commissioning, and training activities.
- Prepare certification, compliance, and quality assurance documentation.
- Contribute to the development of new products, systems, and engineering standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in electrical design within mining, heavy industry or related sectors.
- Previous Australian experience with a strong knowledge of relevant AS/NZ and mining standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deliver within deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Eligibility or attainment of CPEng status (highly regarded).
