We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager – Vehicles & Real Estate to join Ampcontrol at our Tomago head office.

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic, safe and commercially disciplined management of Ampcontrol’s vehicle fleet and property assets. You will ensure assets are compliant, fit for purpose across their lifecycle and optimised for value, cost and sustainability.

Working closely with Finance, Operations, HSEQ and external service providers, you will oversee fleet and facilities performance, capital planning, compliance and risk management, while driving efficiency improvements and supporting Ampcontrol’s sustainability and EV transition initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide end‑to‑end management of vehicle and property assets across their full lifecycle to ensure safety, compliance, availability and value optimisation.
  • Lead fleet and property strategies including acquisition, maintenance, replacement, disposal and utilisation to minimise total cost of ownership and operational risk.
  • Oversee vehicle fleet operations, ensuring compliance with transport, licensing, insurance and safety requirements while improving utilisation and cost efficiency.
  • Manage property and facilities assets, including maintenance planning, capital works, leases and service contracts, to support operational and business requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, capital expenditure and asset performance reporting, identifying cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives, including electric vehicle (EV) transition planning and improved environmental performance across property assets.
  • Establish asset governance, policies and risk management practices in line with regulatory, safety and internal standards.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and service providers to deliver reliable, compliant and fit‑for‑purpose assets.

 

ABOUT YOU

Education & Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Engineering, Property, Facilities Management, Finance, Supply Chain or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience managing vehicle fleets and/or property portfolios across their full lifecycle.
  • Strong capability in fleet management, including maintenance planning, compliance, utilisation and replacement strategies.
  • Experience overseeing facilities such as offices, workshops, warehouses or operational sites.
  • Solid financial and commercial skills, including budgeting, capital expenditure and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Experience managing suppliers, service providers and contracts within governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance and sustainability requirements.

 

Experience & Attributes

  • Background in an operational, manufacturing or services‑based environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across Finance, Operations and HSEQ.
  • Well‑organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Practical, solutions‑focused and comfortable operating in complex environments.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, asset optimisation and risk management.
