The opportunity:

We are looking for dedicated Control Systems Engineer to join our Technology Integration team in Cameron Park NSW.

Our specialist Automation team offers Ampcontrol's customers in the mining, water, tunnelling, infrastructure, utilities and energy sectors the benefit of combined engineering and technology capabilities, predominately in the areas of automation, process control, software and industrial communications technology solutions.

In a market that is changing, Ampcontrol Automation is setting a clear benchmark. Our solutions to engineering challenges give us an advantage that is hard to beat. As a Control Systems Engineer, your solutions for automation and control system network design will help drive that advantage.

The purpose of our Control Systems roles is to design, implement, commission, modify and maintain control systems, control networks and related technology for Ampcontrol’s customers and clients. We continually bridge the gap between operational and information technology (OT/IT) and need to master the multi-disciplined requirements of a rapidly evolving environment. Work will be divided between office-based development, site-based field service work and ad-hoc support functions.

What are we looking for from you?

Your willingness to get hands on in a diverse engineering environment will be complemented by the following:

  • Safety as a core value
  • PLC and SCADA programming skills (preferably competent with Contrologix, Siemens, CitectSCADA, FactoryTalk View, ClearSCADA, Beckhoff)
  • Understanding of industrial networking and bus systems
  • Interpretation of Functional Specifications and generation of ITPs
  • Process control and automated systems knowledge
  • Experience with electrical switchgear and control systems
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Skills and expertise in networking and communications (CISCO, Microsoft certifications), programming and project delivery – advantageous
  • Skills with software and IoT Solutions
  • Preparedness to Work Underground if required
  • Project management and cost control
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidiscipline teams

EDUCATION

  • Diploma / Associate Diploma level qualifications in electrical/electronic/computer/mechatronics engineering
  • OR Degree (or higher) level qualifications in electrical/electronic/computer/mechatronics engineering
  • Qualified Supervisors Certificate (Electrical)
  • Extensive industrial control experience
  • CCNA or other networking certifications
