ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Group Supply Chain / Procurement Manager, the Item & Vendor Master Data Officer will form an integral part of Ampcontrol’s Procurement team.

The Procurement Business Unit plays a key role in maintaining Ampcontrol’s supply chain through risk mitigation, supplier agreements, quote negotiation (including pricing, lead time, and commercial terms), and the procurement of materials, services, and logistics.

This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of item and vendor master data across the organisation, ensuring compliance with internal policies, systems, and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support master data for Items & Vendors
  • Review and approve master data requests to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with company standards.
  • Determine whether user requests meet the required standards and requirements for master data creation or changes.
  • Assess and action notified changes relating to master data.
  • Work collaboratively with sites and departments across the Ampcontrol Group to ensure master data consistency and minimise duplication.
  • Ensure adherence to the adopted master data naming conventions.
  • Maintain the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of all master data records.
  • Support employees across the business to understand and comply with master data requirements and processes.
  • Conduct ongoing master data cleansing and review activities.
  • Communicate clearly with the business regarding changes, processes, and procedures.
  • Assist in supplier evaluations and supplier onboarding activities.
  • Document and maintain standard work practices.
  • Support the development and documentation of master data conventions.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Competencies & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for business documentation, reporting, and presentations.
  • Ability to use digital collaboration tools to work effectively across teams and geographic locations.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for data entry, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets accurately.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in a Master Data or Data Management role within an industrial environment such as mining, manufacturing, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
  • Exposure to procurement or supply chain processes will be advantageous.

Formal qualifications in business, supply chain, or project management are not essential but may be advantageous in supporting effective performance in this role.
