Join Ampcontrol's Environmental Services team and play a key role in delivering high-quality environmental monitoring services across Newcastle, the Central Coast and beyond. This hands-on position combines field-based monitoring, equipment maintenance, data validation and compliance activities to ensure the reliability and integrity of environmental data for our customers.

As an Environmental Technician, you'll work with a variety of scientific monitoring equipment, support NATA-accredited environmental services, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that maximise monitoring reliability and data capture rates. If you're a detail-oriented technician who enjoys a mix of field work, technical problem solving and working within a collaborative team environment, we'd love to hear from you.

 

What you'll do

Reporting to the Environmental Services leadership team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine environmental monitoring and field-based data collection activities
  • Maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting environmental monitoring equipment
  • Supporting compliance with NATA accreditation requirements and customer specifications
  • Participating in data validation and reporting processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve monitoring reliability, equipment performance and operational processes
  • Supporting environmental monitoring projects across Newcastle, the Central Coast and other locations as required
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

 

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience as an Environmental Field Technician or in a similar technical field-based role
  • Experience working with environmental monitoring instrumentation or scientific equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
  • A proactive approach to learning and developing technical skills
  • Reliability, flexibility and a strong work ethic
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely when required
