As a HR Coordinator you will be joining a cohesive HR unit, working with our HR Business Partners and within a broader team containing L&D, Recruitment and People Systems functions that are well regarded within the business.

Based in Tomago (Newcastle) NSW you will be a proactive HR services provider supporting our multi-award-winning engineering, manufacturing and services operations throughout Australia that operate within a range of market sectors including renewables, energy, infrastructure and mining.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be tasked with coordinating and delivering quality HR tactical and transactional services. Reporting to one of our experienced HR Business Partners and forming a part of a collaborative team, you will not only actively support them but also have set accountabilities aimed at supporting our Leaders in achieving their business objectives through optimal employee engagement, performance and behaviour.
Some core functions will include:
- Providing and coordinating a defined range of generalist HR support and services
- Coordination and/or support of key annual HR programs (ie: workforce planning, workforce engagement, succession planning, performance appraisals)
- IR coordination and support (including participating in EA negotiations, workforce restructuring and other highly consultative programs)
- Policy and process development, implementation and compliance
- Stakeholder input into People/HR systems and practices
- Ensure continuity of HR support by providing coverage across HR Business Partner portfolios during periods of high work volume, leave or absence
The complexity and challenge in your role will evolve as you develop in competence and confidence.
YOU’LL NEED THESE TO SUCCEED
- Experience in successfully servicing and supporting your customers in a Human Resources setting
- Solid, or developing knowledge of contemporary HR models, systems, programs and initiatives
- Exposure to/fundamental understanding and/or experience in IR/ER matters including negotiation and interpretation of EAs and awards
- Advanced communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders, ensuring successful relationships are developed and maintained
- Ability to work well within a team and autonomously whilst owning your allocated businesses needs
- Ability to manage/multi-task a high volume of HR enquiries
- Interpersonal capability and resilience to deal with complex, sensitive and/or conflictual employee matters/interactions
- Tertiary qualifications in Business,Human Resources or related field (advantageous)
