ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a permanent full time Estimator to join our team based at Tomago. At the forefront of Ampcontrol's project lifecycle, you will prepare budgets and tenders, liaise with customers, assist with pre-engineering, and participate in progress reviews. To keep the role challenging and ensure every day is different, you will be involved in all kinds of tenders and quotes, including large-scale capital projects, HV/LV maintenance, overhaul and upgrade projects, replacement (both like for like and project style), as well as schedule of rates and budget estimates.

Key challenges will be developing your customer relationships to drive tender/estimate success rates and developing strong client relationships; as well as maintaining high quality and accuracy of tenders whilst ensuring compliance to budgets, contracts, standards, and legislation.

ABOUT YOU:

Your willingness to get hands-on in a fast-paced services environment will be complemented by the following:

  • Electrical Trade or Engineering qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience with HV/LV electrical plant, equipment, and systems.
  • Experience with underground flameproof equipment desirable but not necessary.
  • Experience in the electrical equipment hire industry advantageous.
  • A customer-oriented approach with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in electrical estimating and the preparation of tenders (advantageous).
  • Good computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Highly organised and accurate.
