We are looking for a dynamic Business Manager – Applications, to provide strategic and operational leadership across the Applications portfolio at Ampcontrol, spanning Cameron Park NSW, Ringwood VIC, and Sydney NSW.

This role is pivotal in delivering the Ampcontrol Group strategy through effective execution of business plans, operational excellence, and identification of growth opportunities across both existing and emerging markets.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide strong commercial, operational, and people leadership while ensuring performance, service delivery, engineering solutions, design, project management, resourcing, and HSEQ standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

As Business Manager – Applications, you will:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans, budgets, and business objectives aligned to Group strategy
  • Lead full P&L accountability and drive profitable, sustainable growth
  • Use financial and operational data to guide decision-making and performance improvement
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality, cost-effective project and service delivery
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions where required
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage commercial and operational risks
  • Drive workforce planning and resource optimisation initiatives
  • Lead and develop high-performing, accountable teams
  • Strengthen collaboration across departments to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to expand market presence
  • Champion continuous improvement and integrated business systems

Travel to interstate sites, including corporate head office, may require infrequent periods away from home.

About You

You are a commercially astute and customer-focused leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution.

You will bring:

  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar senior leadership role, ideally within the energy, engineering, or industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, high-value project portfolios
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven P&L accountability
  • Financial literacy and the ability to interpret operational and financial data
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in service delivery, manufacturing, or project environments
  • A track record of building customer relationships and driving business growth
  • Experience implementing business and operational system improvements
