About the role

Amicus is a specialist in Designing and Constructing Workspaces, offering additional services in Strategy, Technology, Finance and more.

The Melbourne team is a team of ~40 within a broader company of ~90.

This role is in the Delivery team and in this team there are 5 Contracts Administrators + you = 6.

Here are some examples of what you’ll do

  • Contract Management - Interpret construction contracts, manage contract administration processes, maintain documentation, manage risks and apply knowledge of construction law and relevant legislation
  • Support your PM - Apply solid project management principles, plan/schedule/monitor progress, manage budgets/resources, report on performance, identify/resolve issues
  • Communicate with internal teams & stakeholders, both verbally and through clear and concise documentation
  • Proactively identify and mitigate commercial risks, to maximise project value
  • Navigate and manage the CDC / DC / CC / OC process for projects on behalf of the Client and the Project Manager, meeting the often tight timeframes; and
  • Be involved and responsible in breaking down the scope of a project; issue to trades for tendering and reconciling the quotes for the Project Manager to make an informed decision on who to engage. This includes handling scope of works across all trades and read drawings including structural and building services

Here is what will make you ideal for the role

  • Project Coordinator /Contract Administration experience preferably with a Design and Construct Company
  • Must have workspace fit-out / commercial experience
  • IT Systems such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ideally have formal qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Building and Construction (Building), Bachelor of Construction Management (or equivalent)

Here is why you might love working for us

  • We do a 9-day fortnight
  • We do 2 days in the office/week and the rest from anywhere
  • Our purpose is to create positive impacts on people’s lives: for All Australians; for First Australians; for Amicus people
  • We’re goals driven, not hours driven. So, if your day can include a walk, a school pickup, some sport – go for it.
  • We offer stability and growth path - we've been doing this for our people since 2005

Here is what might not work for you

  • Our projects have a fast turnaround timeframe and we have many on the go at once. We know some CAs prefer instead to be on one project only for the long term.
  • No two projects will be the same and all with require you to think critically and find creative solutions. Your PM will want your input.
  • We value personal growth and feedback. So, we'll look for opportunities to develop you and often this will be through feedback which will be both constructive and kind. This works for us but we recognise it's not for everyone.
  • We hire with confidence. We can because our recruitment process is thorough (but not lengthy). So it will include interview questions that dive into your experience and reference checks.
