THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded, organised, meticulous, and capable Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our Heavy Motor team.

As a member of the Heavy Motor Senior Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for providing commercial and financial leadership to support the financial and operational performance of the Heavy Motor division. The role will lead the planning and forecasting activities and will be the trusted finance business partner to the Executive General Manager – Heavy Motor.


Role responsibilities 

  • Preparation of strategic plan, annual budget and rolling forecasts
  • Capital planning and prioritisation
  • Interface with Group Finance team to meet Group planning timetables and deliverables
  • Develop business cases to support capital investment decisions, including: Analysis of risks, impacts and mitigations, scenario analysis and commercial pricing analysis
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to refine processes
  • Be the trusted finance business partner to the EGM – Heavy Motor
  • Build commercial acumen of non-financial stakeholders
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Working with the Collision & Heavy Motor financial accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting policies and liaison with AMA Group’s external auditors
  • Support Investor Relations with external reporting to ASX
  • Partner with the Collision & Heavy Motor financial accounting team to ensure appropriate accruals and provisions are maintained
  • Work in Progress management and reporting
  • Administration of pricing settings in workshop management system
  • Partner with financial accounting team on management of debtors and creditors to optimise cash flow
  • Management of changes to accounting estimates such as make good, lease reassessments and useful lives of assets
  • Support the General Manager Finance and broader business on various projects and initiatives as required

Does this sound like you?

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in FP&A or other commercial finance roles.
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification (eg law, finance, commerce) and post graduate qualification (CA, CPA, CFA, MBA)  
  •  Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  •  Excellent analytical skills combined with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to present clearly and confidently to management and team members of all levels.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, disciplined, and hands-on.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status-quo.
  • Uses projects and assignments as an opportunity for self-development.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior stakeholders 


Desirable

  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  •  Exposure to industrial or service sectors, or collision repair industry.
